H.E.E.D.: Health...Education...Employment...Discounts

These are the focal points of the Oro Valley Veterans Support Initiative. By proclamation on June 1, 2011, the Town Council approved the Oro Valley Veterans Support Initiative in response to residents who proposed increased awareness and support for veterans and their families. The intention is to identify and encourage non-governmental entities and individuals that support veterans and their families.

We intend to foster an environment in Oro Valley that encourages our veterans to:
participate in their own well-being (Health)
engage in opportunities for learning and training (Education)
return to jobs held for them; find new job opportunities (Employment)
identify Oro Valley retail and service businesses that offer tangible support for veterans (Discounts)

The Oro Valley Veterans Support Initiative is a volunteer effort, intended to establish relationships among veterans and non-veterans, neighbors and friends, working together to provide personal support and encouragement, as well as recognition and gratitude for those who serve our country.

This is the Oro Valley Veterans Support Initiative website. When you open the Veterans Support Initiative home page, you can check out our Proclamation link, as well as many other links which Veterans and their families will find useful.

Additional sites that provide substantive content related to opportunities for health care, education, employment and discounts will be added periodically. Keep checking the site and the pages. They will grow.

There are also sites of interest for individuals who would like to volunteer their time and/or talents to ensure our Veterans and their families experience our respect and gratitude for their service, both during and after their duties have ended.
